Mission Statement

Each Individual and his or her family has inherent worth with physical, psycho-social, cultural and spiritual needs and deserves support in dealing with death as well as life. Horizon Hospice volunteers will work to meet the needs of the individual who has been diagnosed with a terminal illness in order to achieve a positive therapeutic environment for that individual and family. The goal of intervention is to assist in providing respect, dignity, comfort and companionship in the time remaining before death. Therapeutic interventions may occur in any environment that is appropriate: in the individual's home, a hospital, or a care center.
